DIY Clothespin Easels & Toddler Art

As a crafty mama, I love thinking of crafts to do with my kids. We've done tons of different footprint/handprint crafts. They are the sweetest keepsakes and make great gifts for friends and family. I wanted to create some art to display on our kitchen shelves this summer. My son (almost 2!) did a footprint lobster and finger print blueberries. My daughter (8 months) did footprint corn and handprint carrots. There are truly so many possibilities for other foods or even bugs, animals, or flowers! My daughter is a bit young to really participate but my son loved the sensory aspect of this and getting to color his toes with paint! I love acrylic paint for this because it washes off of most everything (except clothes - we do these with just diapers on!). To display, I used clothespins as easels. Follow along below to make some yourself!
SUPPLIES
- Art (I used paper and acrylic paint to make mine)
- Clothespins
- Hot glue gun
STEPS
Pull your clothespin apart and up so that one of the sides rests in the divot of the other side (image 2 below).
Hot glue around the divot to secure in place.
Hot glue the back side of the flat piece (the lower piece in image 2) and secure onto your art.
Stand up and display!
